Out of our personal archive - Circa. 1960s, a private purchase A-2 style jacket worn by US Navy Lt. A. N. Kris with 1st type patches which are original to the jacket. Made from 100% genuine leather, the jacket features four lower pockets (two main patch pockets with an internal pocket under either side).

Lt. Kris flew with Training Squadron Ten (TRARON-10 / VT-10), and Training Squadron Six (TRARON-6). Both squadrons would have trained Navy pilots for deployment to Vietnam.

Also shown are images of two TRARON-10 aircraft, a T-39D Sabreliner (1975) and a TF-9J Cougar (1973). Also, a TRARON-6 aircraft, a T-28B Trojan.

T-39D Sabreliners were used during the war to transport high priority cargo, such as photographic film from reconnaissance missions to Saigon from outlying bases. TF-9J Cougar aircraft also saw use in Vietnam in an Airborne Command role to direct airstrikes on enemy positions.

The jacket is in overall excellent condition with some minor wear and beautiful patina. The leather is strong and supple with some scuffing around pronounced points as seen. All fittings and fixtures are present and working, the label remains and is legible.
